Dia is a premier promoter of women’s and children’s health.  Her company, Platypus Media, an independent press in Washington, DC, was created to promote the concepts and practice of attachment parenting.  An internationally published science and parenting writer, she is the editor of Breastfeeding Facts for Fathers, the co-author of Breastfeeding At A Glance: Facts, Figures and Trivia about Breastfeeding and Milk, Money & Madness: The Culture and Politics of Breastfeeding.  She has also written a number of children’s books that detail mammal lactation and include images of breastfeeding, baby-wearing, family beds and active fathering. A popular speaker, she has delivered speeches at national and international healthcare and parenting conferences.  She also teaches classes at children’s, natural history and science museums around the US. Dia lives in Washington, DC, with her husband and their three children.
